that the district needs a planetarium. I don’t see it. What are the prioities of the district that a planetarium has been funded for forty years while at times there have been enormous elementary classes and mediocre libraries? I see a planetarium as unnecessary at best and a luxury at worst. Sure it’s nice to have one, but literacy and a real education rank higher on my list of priorities, and I’m an old teacher. To me, the planetarium is Jeffco schools’ version of the county building, a shiny bangle.
